First off, E woke up babbling to his toys (as usual) at 7:30am. Daddy went to get him and reported that E was looking for Mommy. I came out of our bathroom to see Daddy and E standing there. E smiled hugely and began kicking his legs upon seeing me. We played on the bed for a little while before he began making the sign for "eat," whereupon we had a yummy breakfast of fresh papaya and organic yogurt.
We played for a while inside and outside, but E was sleepy so went down for a nap earlier than usual after we read books together and he hugged and patted me.
When E got up, we had a delicious lunch of pasta with spinach and bell peppers followed by dessert of graham crackers and mandarin oranges. We shared all of it.
I knew E had to get tired out since he took an early nap and that wouldn't be enough for the whole day. So we slathered on sunscreen and put on our bathing suits. E decided that Mommy wouldn't be the only one slathering. He insisted on getting a little sunscreen on his fingers and helping to rub it on Mommy. It was great fun.
We walked to the community pool (well, Mama walked, E rode in the stroller) and pointed out all the birdies on the way. Once there, E delighted in splashing in the overflow drains in the pool and bouncing with Mommy. Upon seeing the "4 FT" sign at the edge, E squealed delightedly, pointed and shouted, "Eeeeeeeee!" I didn't correct him that F is not the same thing as E. He was happy.
When E got tired he started saying "Bah bah!" We walked home, and rinsed all the nasty chlorine off in the shower once we got there. E gave himself water freckles by hitting the spray the wrong way. Then we read a few more books, he went down for another nap, and Mommy played games on Sporcle. What fun.
